International Paper was established in 1898 and, by absorbing Union Camp (1999) and Champion International (2000) it became the largest paper and forestry products manufacturer in the world. The headquarters are situated in Stamford (CT) in the USA and the company operates in 40 countries in the American, European and Asian continents. It exports for more than 120 countries.

Situated in the municipality of Mogi Guaçu (SP) the plant that manufactures printing and writing papers started its activities in Brazil in 1960. The Chambril line comprises the most versatile offset papers in the market and the production is geared to the graphic and editorial segments. Its broad scope of applications include the manufacturing of several different printings such as leaflets, calendar, bank checks, forms, notebooks and books among other products. In the municipality of Arapoti (PR), they have the only plant in the Southern Hemisphere that manufactures low basis weight coated paper, known as LWC, that is used for printing magazines, special sections and supplements, catalogues, leaflets and gift wrapping paper.

Social Responsability:
From Paraná in the South to Amapá in the Far North, there are plant nurseries, mills, forests and collaborators living in the communities surrounding company's lands. This universe demands specific philanthropic actions and International Paper makes sure that all its initiatives are combined with better social investments.
