The Orsa Group owers its origins to the opening in September 1981 of a small carton manufacturing business located in th Vila Zelina district in the city of São Paulo. Thanks to modern and efficient management methods, rhe business expanded rapidly. In 1986, with three carton manufacturing plants alredy operating, Orsa Celulose, Papel e Embalagens opened its first mill in Suzano (SP) for manufaturing cardboard and corrugated cardboard boxes, thereby beginning the development of the group's integrated industrial structure.

Boxes for packing, protecting, shipping and storing. This is the core activity of the businesses in Orsa, producing a wide variety of corrugated cardboard sheets and packaging, in addition to wrapping papers, kraftliner, testliner, white-top and fluting.

Social Responsability:
In 1994, Orsa Celulose, Papel e Embalagens, Jari Celulose e Orsa Florestal, pulp and paper enterprises, created the Orsa Foundation to coordinate their actions regarding social responsibility. The foundation promotes a thoroughly education program for children and adolescents at personal and social risk. Acting in the fields of Education, Health, Social Promotion and Environment, the foundation assists more than one million individuals per year. The work is performed within a long-term planning program thanks to the allocation of 1% of the annual gross revenue offered by all the companies that belong to the group and to other resources coming from several different partnerships. Seated in São Paulo, from where it covers national scope projects, the foundation maintains a unit in Monte Dourado (PA) for the development of regional projects.
