Papirus was founded in 1952 when the Ramenzoni family, Italian in origin and well known for the manufacture of hats (Ramenzoni) and shirts (Bantan), decided to produce the raw material for packaging their products as well. The family acquired a cardboard factory in the interior of the state of São Paulo which in a few short years has become the main business of the family. In 1972, the family built their present industrial plant in Limeira, 131 kilometers from the capital of São Paulo. At present, Papirus has 366 associates and a production of 84,000 tons per year of cardboard which it sells throughout Brazil and exports to countries in Europe, Asia, North America and especially in Latin America.
