In the 50's, Ripasa started its activities with the acquisition of a cardboard factory in Limeira. In 1965, they purchased a mill - Ribeiro Parada - situated in the interior of São Paulo that used to produce pulp. With these acquisitions, the group received the corporate name of Ripasa S.A. Celulose e Papel Ltda. When the group acquired the Cia. Santista, it got into the business of printing and writing paper as well. Ripasa is certified under the ISO 9001-2000 Quality and ISO 14001 - Environmental Management System, in both its industrial unit Ripasa 1, located in the city of Limeira and the eight forest parks.

Ripasa S.A. produces pulp (ECF) and a variety of printing and writing papers, special papers and others.

Social Responsability:
Ripasa Celulose e Papel created, in 2001, Ripasa Cidadã (Citizen Ripasa) a department that manages all the company's social investments oriented to benefit the communities where the industry has its businesses. The actions taking place in the regions of Americana, Embu, Limeira and São Paulo focus on the fields of education, culture, environment and volunteer work. The implementation of an internal social policy generated a clearly defined action model, which allowed the integration of data and the monitoring and assessment of all the social actions and projects. Ripasa is a member of the Global Compact, is a broad world agreement implemented by the United Nations (UN) aiming at coordinating the synergy among the private enterprises, social organizations and UN agencies. The goal is to contribute towards the advancement of corporate social responsibility practices, in the search of a more inclusive and sustainable global economy.
