Social Responsability:
Instituto Veracel, founded in 2002, is responsible for the implementation of social action policies on behalf of Veracel Celulose. Among its main attributions, we mention its permanent relationship with civil society organizations, with funding and business agencies, with project management and with services to supply community demands. The institute strongly acts in educational projects aiming mainly children and adolescents in the municipalities of Eunápolis, Itagimirim, Itapebi, Itabela and Santa Cruz Cabrália, in the southern region of Bahia. Veracel is a member of the Global Compact, is a broad world agreement implemented by the United Nations (UN) aiming at coordinating the synergy among the private enterprises, social organizations and UN agencies. The goal is to contribute towards the advancement of corporate social responsibility practices, in the search of a more inclusive and sustainable global economy.
