Packaging Folding Boxboard
In May 1999, Folding Box Board manufacturers, Bracelpa members, quite aware of their responsibilities regarding the environment, launched the Folding Box Board Campaign. The purpose of this campaign is to make the population aware of importance of consuming packaging items that cause low impact in the environment, as the folding box board packaging, therefore, sensitizing the whole packaging value chain towards the knowledge about the technical and environmental attributes of this product.
The Folding Boxboard Campaign, one of the winners of the Top de Marketing de 2001/2001 Marketing Top Award, the mostly valued marketing award in the country, sponsored by the Brazilian Sales Managers (ADVB -(Associação dos Dirigentes de Vendas do Brasil) is a pioneer campaign. Historically, this is the very first time that the Brazilian pulp and paper industry promotes an institutional campaign, with informational, educational and commercial actions, encompassing public relations efforts, publicity and advertising, public opinion, billboards, TV advertisements, promotional events and awareness activities, followed by press release support.

The campaign had the official support from Abigraf - Associação Brasileira da Indústria Gráfica, given by its former president, Max Schrappe, on September 23, 1999.
INTERNATIONAL FORUM ON FOLDING BOXBOARD PACKAGING
This forum - an annual event that started in the year 2000, representing what we could call of integration of the Folding Boxboard productive chain, travels along all the different segments: production, graphic industry, design, consumer goods, wherever the user may find our product. The forum also reaches the vendors who sell our products to the final user.
The motto of the Folding Boxboard Campaign is that our product is friendly to the environment and Nature. We can never reinforce this subject enough as we are living in a moment when the ecological awareness is growing, as well as the concern for the future generations and ours. We must point out, clearly, that the Folding Boxboard packaging is, by far, the most environmental friendly among the types of packaging because it is the only one that has the three main positive environmental features: it is recycled and recyclable, it biodegrades fast, and, it is manufactured with renewable raw material - the eucalyptus and pine forests, planted by our industry, specially for this purpose.
BRAZILIAN AWARD FOR FOLDING BOXBOARD PACKAGING
The Brazilian Award for Folding Boxboard Packaging was first awarded in the year 2000. The purpose of this award was to promote the positive attribute of using Folding Boxboard as an ideal raw material for packaging. The idea was to show its commercial and environmental advantages making the population aware of the importance of using packages that may minimize the environmental impact.
By means of our contest, we try to discover new talents who are studying in the graduation and post-graduation courses in the universities and colleges that may have fields related to Packaging Development.
The above mentioned award had, as an initial partner, the Universidade Anhembi Morumbi. In the following years (2001/2002), due to its success, Bracelpa had to broaden the scope of this contest to be able to include all the Brazilian Universities/Colleges that had Packaging Design in their curricula.

Since the beginning of the Folding Boxboard Campaign, in May 1999 until February of 2004, we were able to attract 56 different companies, with approximately 140 different products. These companies also became citizen companies, adding more value to their products by receiving the Bracelpa Stamp called "FOLDING BOXBOARD FOR PACKAGING, APPROVED BY NATURE".
