RAW MATERIAL FROM VIRGIN FIBER

CHEMICAL PULP (CELLULOSE)

It is the material that, after cooking, reaches at least ROE 10 degrees, equivalent to the number of permanganate (TAPPI) 50, with a maximum content of lignin around 10%. If the values, after cooking, indicate a harder PULP, the product should be classified as a semi-chemical pulp or a corresponding one.

SEMI-CHEMICAL PULP

It is the PULP where the lignin was only partially removed, reaching ROE 10 to 28 degrees, equivalent to the number of permanganate (TAPPI) of 50 to 140. Usually, after cooking, a mechanical defibration process occurs. If, after cooking, the values show a harder PULP, it should be classified as a chemi-mechanical pulp.

HIGH YIELD PULP

BLEACHING

Any pulp with a whiteness degree that equals or is higher than 80º GE is considered as a bleached pulp and if the whiteness is between 59 to 79º GE it is a semi-bleached pulp.

DISSOLVING PULP

This pulp may be bleached by sulphite or sulphate, intensively refined, with a high content of alpha-cellulose pure fibers. Its normal final use is for the production of rayon, acetate, explosives and so forth.
