PACKAGING AND WRAPPING PAPERS
- STOWAGE AND MACULATURA
This paper mainly uses natural color (grayish) trimmings and scraps for its manufacture, which is usually on a basis weight ranging from 70 to 120 g/m2. It is used for packages that do not need a special appearance, tubes and cones.
- MANILA - BAKERY
Paper manufactured with trimmings and scraps, mechanical or semi-chemical pulp, usually on a basis weight ranging from 40 to 45 g/m2, monolucid or not, generally in its natural color and in folded sheets. It is mainly used in bakeries.
- MANILA - HD - HAMBURGER - HAVANA - LD
Paper manufactured with trimmings and scraps, mechanical or semi-chemical pulp, usually on a basis weight ranging from 40 to 100 g/m2, either monolucid or with labeled colors or natural color. Is is used for wrapping in stores, industries and akin.
- ENVELOPE-LINING PAPER
Packaging paper made with chemical and mechanical pulp or with clean trimmings, on a basis weight ranging from 70 to 120 g/m2, with a good mechanical sturdiness and usually the colors used are cream, beige and blue. It is mainly used for wrapping fabrics and for manufacturing envelopes.
- MATCH-BOX COVER BOARD
Packaging paper, basically manufactured with chemical pulp, basis weight 40 g/m2, monolucid or not, with a characteristic blue color. It is used, mainly, for lining matchboxes.
- STRONG
- STRONG (Top Quality)
Packaging paper manufactured with chemical pulp - usually sulphite and/or punched cardboard trimmings and scraps, 40 a 80 g/m2, usually monolucid, white and light colors. It is mainly used for manufacturing small size bags, bags lining, and wrapping.
- STRONG (Lower Quality)
A paper that is similar to "Strong (Top Quality)" but it is manufactured with the addition of clean trimmings and scraps and/or mechanical pulp.
- FRUIT-WRAP TISSUE
Packaging paper, manufactured with bleached (or not) chemical pulp, with 20 to 27 g/m2, either white or colored. Use for light packages, art objects wrapping, ornaments, insert between other sheets, fruit protection and so forth.
- GREASEPROOF
Packaging paper with low permeability to greasy, fatty substances. Check the sub items for a better classification:
- GLASSINE PAPER
Paper manufactured with bleached chemical pulp, which is highly refined so that, together with the super calender action we may reach its typical characteristic - the transparency. When, by adding mineral loads, it becomes opaque, it acquires a translucid milky aspect. It is usually manufactured on a basis weight from 30 g/m2 on and with high impermeability. It is essentially used for food packaging, as a prime for self adhesive paper, for protecting the fruits hanging in the trees, and so forth.
- GRANADO
A paper that is similar to "Glassine, Crystal", but less transparent and not as impermeable as those because it contains other pulps. It is also manufactured in different colors.
- GREASEPROOF
Paper with extremely high level of impermeability to grease, manufactured with bleached chemical pulp, usually on basis weight of 30 to 80 g/m2. Translucid, without super calander and with a white, almost yellowish color. It is mainly used for packing greasy, fatty substances.
- OPAQUE
Paper with low impermeability, manufactured with chemical pulp, usually starting with 40 g/m2, translucid, without super calender, natural color. It is used for drawing paper, disposable packaging for food and so forth. It is also used for heavy packaging.
- KRAFT
Packaging paper with a strong mechanical resistance. Check sub-items for a better classification:
- KRAFT BAG PAPER
Paper made of a sulphite non-bleached chemical pulp, long fibers, usually on a basis weight ranging from 80 to 90 g/m2. It is highly resistant to tearing and good resistance to blowing up. It is essentially used for bags/sacs and large industrial packaging.
- EXTENSIBLE KRAFT
Manufactured with unbleached sulphite or soda chemical pulp, long fibers, on a basis weight ranging from 80 to 100 g/m2. It is highly resistant to tearing and to the energy absorbed during traction. It has a length stretching ability higher or equal to 8%. It is used for paper bag packaging.
- NATURAL KRAFT OR COLORED KRAFT USED FOR OTHER PURPOSES
Manufactured with non-bleached long fiber sulphite chemical pulp, usually ranging from 30 to 150 g/m2, monolucid or polished, with a mechanical sturdiness similar to "Natural Kraft for multisheet bags". It is used for manufacturing small size bags/sacs and packaging in general.
- WHITE KRAFT OR COLORED KRAFT
Made with bleached sulphite chemical pulp, long fiber, usually ranging from 30 to 150 g/m2, monolucid or polished. It is used as an outer sheet in multisheet bags, sugar and flour bags, shopping bags and, in lower basis weight, for individually wrapped candies.
- KRAFT (Top Line)
Packaging paper similar to "Natural Kraft or Colored Kraft" but with a lower mechanical resistance, made with 50% of chemical pulp, usually with a basis weight higher than 40 g/m2, monolucid or not. In general, it is used for small size bags.
- KRAFT (Second Line)
This paper is similar to "Kraft Top Line" but with a lower mechanical resistance, usually basis weight higher than 40 g/m2, monolucid or not. It is used for wrappings and packaging in general.
- PAPER FOR CORRUGATED CARDBOARD
Packaging paper used for manufacturing corrugated cardboard. Check sub-items for a better classification:
- FLUTING
Paper made of semi-chemical and/or mechanical pulp and/or trimmings and scraps pulp, usually with 120 to 150g/m2. It is used to become corrugated while manufacturing corrugated cardboard.
- KRAFTLINER
Paper made with a large amount of virgin pulp fibers, usually with 120 g/m2 or more meeting the mechanical resistance requirements for becoming either the cover or the lining of corrugated cardboard boxes.
- TESTLINER
Paper similar to Kraftliner but with inferior mechanical properties due to the use of recycled raw material in a high ratio.
- WHITE TOP LINER
Paper manufactured with a large amount of virgin pulp fibers, usually with 150 to 385 g/m2, meeting the mechanical resistance requirements for becoming parts of the corrugated cardboard boxes.
